Do you really need your bf/gf to like anime?

astra
My bf doesn't really have any interest in anime/manga but he actually thinks its cute that I get all passionate about the things I love. We're pretty much complete opposites, but it just really works well for us. And he's about the only one besides my family that I can be my super geeky self with. If your significant others can accept all your quirks, then they're a real keeper. (:

I feel that we'd connect a little better/faster if they shared that interest. It's one of the biggest things in my life (besides dogs).

I mainly want a girl who will play video games with me, and watch most of the same movies with me. I would love her to love anime, but maybe she will later on, you know? So I don't require it, but it would be a great way to start off! :)

He has to at least give it a chance... it would be awesome to be with a guy who liked anime and gaming among other things.

At this point, it's a must. I say that now because I seem to click better with women who like anime. Those who I have dated or been with who didn't like anime ended badly. Then again, so did a couple who did. Nicer way of putting that last part: My longest relationships were with women who liked anime.

^ Everytime I ever tried dating someone who found out I liked anime and video games they scorned me. Even though I have more qualities to me than just those hobbies, they just don't wanna bother with me because its not the cool kid thing.

Then they're not worth it. If they can't accept you for who you are, then it's time to move on to someone who will. It's very difficult in today's society because of how everyone wants you to "look like this" and "be like this". Be your own person, Otaku or not. Many of us are still looking to find that special someone who accepts or even shares our lifestyle. A lot of others on here have told me that although we are very spread out, our numbers are greater than you think.
