Does your boss &/or your coworkers know that you're an otaku

cloud87
Yeah it's sounds like it belongs in anime news & such but this question is speaking in general like do you tell them that you're an otaku or do they ever found out that you're an otaku before you ask how they found out here's how. They look at your background pic on your computer, walked in on you or seeing you online buying gaming, anime & manga or if they see you playing a game, watching a anime either on your computer or on your system I.E PSP3000,reading manga or if they walked in on you they might ask you what are you doing. There are many more examples of how some people including your boss/bosses or your coworkers finding out that you're an otaku and if i do have a job i don't know should i be honest with them and tell them that about me or not but this question is not about me this question about you who does have jobs & don't worry i don't mind & include if you're the boss. Anyway to the point does your boss &/or your coworkers know that you're an otaku? Be honest & if you want to discuss it or talk about it then feel free to discuss it only if you want to share or if you want to share your stories enjoy :).

All I can say is, I just hope they "walked in" on your free time/break/day off & not while at work/on the clock.

@徐々に i agree and it's not about me I'm talking about everyone on here who have jobs if you're talking about when they're off the clock and they are on their break then i have to say i agree with you there :).

No, I try to keep my business and personal life separate. The less they know about me the better. It's bad enough some of them already think of me as some computer wiz. Last thing I need is them thinking I'm into anime. Anime and it's fans have a pretty bad reputation among most normals on this side of the globe thanks to the more obnoxious outspoken parts of the fandom (narutards) and I wouldn't want to be associated with them.

Yes, I actually told them so. But they didn't know what anime really is and kinda thought I like 'cartoons' lol. However, I have reason to believe people whom I chose to work for and work with will be judging me based on not my interest, but how good I am with what I do, and my personality. If otherwise, I don't think those people's opinion is worth my caring.

Some coworkers know I watch anime because of our downtime we can watch stuff at work. I don't think the boss knows but I hardly see here since I work the night shift.

I never tell anyone and I never let anyone see my anime/manga, not even my family(except my younger sister)... I'm kind of the secretive anime fan, and in a work situation I try to keep my life separate from my work and coworkers. Though I always feel like somehow... they know.

My boss probably doesn't know, or wouldn't pay any mind to a background picture or anything unless it was inappropriate. My co-workers know. One of them wears an assortment of weaboo shirts throughout the week and has very anime desktop backgrounds. Sometimes he needs to present from gis computer in meetings and accidentally shows it to the whole room. Another co-worker actually has his large gundam figurines on his desk. As for me...I'm rather discrete, but if someone asks about my hobbies I will say anime and video games no matter who it is. Sometimes I will have a modest anime background pic at work. My phone is always anime though.
