It doesn't play 3DS games, at least not physically. There's no dual screen. And also, the cartridges that the Switch uses is a bit bigger than a 3DS cartridge. Not to mention that the Switch cartridge is a 5-pin where as the 3DS is a 17-pin. It doesn't make too much sense for them to integrate it all into one marketing-wise either. The 3DS makes so much revenue and they, and other companies in contract with Nintendo, already invested so much into the 3DS, as well as the New 3DS. Maybe there's a chance that it'll play them digitally via 'Virtual Console', but I would not hold your breath.

I'm just gonna wait after it comes out. I don't like buying new systems on day one. I like to wait till after the bugs and stuff get fixed/patched. Also I see what games will come out for it.

Looks so sick and I might even dump my ps4 if it has blu ray, good streaming and good 3rd party support since at least 50% of gaming I do is nintendo anyway...this looks so sick but I'm not getting my hopes too crazy until I see some specs, game prospects, and other features.

i hope its easy to put android games on. but that would be hacking and that causes problems that's why they need to just have android games on the console
