Suicide is not EVER the only option. I personally do not believe it is cowardly in any way at all, simply a bad choice and a bit selfish. Having been there and done that, I can tell you people contemplating suicide are definitely only thinking about their own situation. But it's hard to describe those feelings to someone who hasn't really felt them before... suffice it to say it's one of the most miserable places you will ever be in your entire life, up to the point where you actually decide it's something you want to do, at which point you may actually feel relieved and even happy. That fact should tell you just how serious of a situation someone can be in to where they are legitimately relieved NOT to have to live anymore. The problem with the idea that suicide is your only option though, is that it's just illogical and, again, hurtful to those around you. The only one who can give your life meaning is you. If God is your reason for living, that's your choice. If music is your reason for living, that is again your choice. Only you can change your perception and find that one, wonderful thing that you love and are willing to live for. Why commit suicide when there are so many of these things available to you? And like richaadokun said, even though it's been said many times, suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. To anyone contemplating suicide, I would say I GUARANTEE time will solve your issues. You just have to keep pushing. I had to deal with the worst time of my life for about 3 years and came so close to the edge so many times I felt like I was in a constant freefall. But I've learned to cope with those feelings in my own way as I've gotten older, and it is definitely worth it!
