Wierdest Breakup ever

isaacjoule
My girlfriend broke up with me... over my stance regarding the Senkaku Islands. She's Chinese. So as far as she's concerned, they are the Diaoyu Islands and they belong to China. I beg to differ. So after a month or so of little barbs here and there, she showed me an Australian produced, Pro-China propaganda video which addressed Japan's history of brutality against China - which is true, but most of it wasn't relevant to the issue at hand. I still say the Senkaku Islands belong to the Japanese. If China wants them back, the traditional methods are to either buy them or win them through battle. Any weird breakups you guys and girls want to share?

If I had a Chinese girlfriend, i'd just keep my mouth shut and agree with everything she says even if she was wrong LOL. I don't have any weird breakup stories to share, but I do have a stupid one. One of my exs decided she wanted to become a man. She said to me "Why can't you accept me for who I am?" I told her "I do accept you for who you are, but you don't." So she went crazy, dumped me, and sold my Nintendo Wii for drugs.

That is pretty weird. Sorry to hear that. Never heard or had any that can be considered weird. Though, I was the one who broke up with my only high school boyfriend because he cheated on me and made it clear that he liked the girl he cheated on more than me. I was waiting for him to break up when I found out but 2 days later, I just broke up with him instead. I don't know, I always felt that he didn't care what happened to me, even if we were together. But good thing that was long ago and I am much happier now.

That is rather weird... As far as I'm concerned, they are Japanese territory. It's funny... I have a co-worker of Chinese decent and he has a prejudice against most things Japanese; (He's a Korea/China fanboy). Anyways, he also believes Japan has no claim to the disputed islands. It's just a power struggle between China, Korean, and Japan. The USA officially recognized the Senkaku Island as Japanese territory. Everyone wants them because there is black gold on the islands. True, that the Japanese military committed some horrible war crimes. But they are no different than any other country including USA. During the Vietnam War, US soldiers had their way with "questionable" young girls who were prostitutes. US soldiers even killed innocent people. All that's in the past though... people need to let it fucking go. Japan has really changed since WWII. Yo Isaac Joule, tell your ex about all the horrible things China does to its' own people! Look-up "língchí" (凌遲). That is one of the most FUCKED-UP tortures I've have ever come across. Look at your own risk! http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c4/Lingchi_%28cropped%29.jpg In my opinion China has some of the darkest history when it comes to war crimes, torture, and violence. Check this article out. http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/9609/23/rare.photos/index.html Sorry, went WAY off topic. However to lose a relationship based on political views is one of the stupidest thing I've heard. Were things going well between you two? Maybe she used it as an excuse to breakup with you? Damn, I originally posted HTML links but they disable that feature since the MO update. (Even with all the bad I'm still not anti-China.)

Here's the thing, asian people are racists against each other. We all dislike other countries. You can even see it from time to time on this forum. For every anti-japan chinese person, you'll find an anti-china japanese person and that's the same for every country in that continent. And of course that's how it is. These countries have been established for years and years, way before the western world. Of course each country has a long and blood soaked history, both internally and externally. And now add in that they're all fighting over a limited amount of resources to survive that are getting scarcer each day. That's gonna stir up lots of animosity. In terms of the islands, the USA doesn't have a position on the ownership, and honestly nor should they. This whole thing only because our problem if someone attacks Japan and then we'll have to attack back because of the Treaty of mutual so and so that we have with Japan. The thing I hate is that there used to be talks about Taiwan, China, and Japan (Not Korea) going into processing the resources and sharing that territory equally, but then Japan bought the islands from a "private owner" and now that's all nulled. It's sad because it could have been a great opportunity to improve sino-japan relationships but now it's totally gone to crap. Actually some people consider the Japanese stance to really be something Abe's party cooked up to strengthen their image on foreign policy due to timing and all, who knows. Regardless, just understand that for some (especially people who just came from their countries not long ago) asian people, conflicts involving things like that are pretty sensitive. After all asian immigrants in the USA are notorious for not considering themselves as Americans foremost despite citizenship status. It gets less and less through the generations but it's one of those things to think about.

Wow, that all was interesting actually pretty enlightening. I'd put in my 2 cents on that discussion, however, I feel like my opinion really holds no value since I'm not entirely knowledgeable on the subject. As to weirdest break-up (although it might not be so weird in retrospect) for me was one summer for a quinceñera (sweet 15, if you will) I got drunk, broke up with girl A to go out with girl B. Didn't know until the next day. I must mention, it was accidental intoxication, I was 10, girl A was 14, girl B was 11 and it happened in Mexico. So, I don't feel very much would've come of either relationship (if I'd call it that).

hm... never really had any real weird break ups before... guess the weirdest one I had was back in highschool in my freshman year. I was dating a girl for two weeks and i do not know how the hell she did it but she was dating me and another guy at the same time... would explain why she wouldnt kiss in public. Soooooo one of my female friends that liked me (didnt find that out till next year) got wind of what was going on and she told me and confronted my ex. Pretty much my ex admitted that she did it and well lets just punches were almost thrown between those two... Welp that's my weirdest break up ever

Weirdest break up... I broke my mirror. Now I don't have a reflection anymore. :( I never had a weird break up but I had to break up with a girl to focus more on school, but that would be an excuse. We rarely saw each other, I never made an effort to call her, I wasn't interested in her at all but I was so gutless and timid that I couldn't say no when she asked me to be her boyfriend. We only spoke to each other rarely on the phone and we had phone sex this one time, but my brother and sister and a family friend were listening in on us at the time. I wasn't a very good boyfriend and she deserved better.

Hmm I will give my share. When I was 19 I had a girl who got mad at me for not choosing her religion but this is when it gets weird. She then decided to write something out to me the next day. You are a non believer and need to believe in god. Until then I will not care about you. I then saw a cross setting on my biology book saying its a lie on a note attached to it. But heres something a bit more funny. From a story on kotaku http://kotaku.com/cosplayer-pulls-a-zelda-sword-man-gets-stabbed-1535057264
