swinglog
I want to hear your stories. I mean, i have had bad experiences...but i do find it interesting, it happens so much. So if you ever had it happened, or did it to someone...just let it alll outtt...~ I'll start?:D.. Sooooo~... I met this girl(I'm not saying no names...*cough*toni*cough*) on fb..cause she found me through my youtube page(Quipsternopuns), and so we talked for a couple of months, and so one day...my friend(David), told me she tried to go smack(holler, get them digits, approach for the D). I was hurt, and so we made a plan to meet her. SO skip to the end,..i made the date, and my friend had the camera~ So not only did she not match her pictures, but she lied, and got so much embarrassment. Was it wrong? who cares!

Facebook! If you add each other on FB and there's nothing fishy there(a little hard to fake it there), it's usually a good sign. Sure there's still room for doubt and all, but I guess that's where trust and all those things is supposed to come in (considering the relationship has been going well and the other person seems worth it). Although as for webcams.. Usually almost all laptops come with webcams nowadays, and getting a cheap $20 webcam isn't so hard. If it's a serious enough relationship I'm sure you'd find a way to at least ask for a webcam on Christmas or something. D:

Sucks that people catfish. I never been a victim of it but I have a ex bf/fling that was catfished. He said that he's been texting and chatting with a guy he meant online named "Nick". Nick claimed very strange claims like he was involved with the Italian Mafia, what did he for a living, and where he was. Once Nick claimed to my ex that he was in town and wanted to meet however my ex tried numerous times to contact them they wouldn't reply or pick put the phone. The big kicker when Nick invited my ex to visit him in some other state. I think it was Maryland... so he took a plane to meet Nick. They both chatted/texted before and during the flight but when his plane landed, Nick stopped answering his phone and my ex waited at the airport for about a day. My ex flew back home so devastated and never again looked to meet a potential partner online any more. It was so very painful for them.

Usually the FB account has to be made years ago and they would've already had all their highschool buddies and posts on their walls and long on-going conversations and stuff, you know? Making several accounts for just that years in advance plus having your family added in and photos that you get tagged in from them during birthdays and all those things are just a lot to keep track of. If someone fakes their FB account usually they wold have a few friends, few posts, photos where they're tagged, events that they went to and photos from there. Also there wouldn't posts from those friends saying "It was a good time" or something like that. Yeah sure, if you were really that dedicated you could make up all those things and other accounts to help that one account, but if that happens to you then you have some bad luck. D: Although FB+webcam+talking over the phone (caller ID would show their name) is a good way to know in my opinion--if you're worried.

I never want to be a victim of cat-fishing. Personally anyone new I've chatted and gotten to know well off here I would ask them to write my name on them in a semi intimate way so I know they are who the say they are based on previous pics they've sent. I then reply in the same way.
