I found a video called 'Why do autistic people really love manga?'

Can somebody explain what's wrong with this? (I didn't have sound on my laptop so maybe I missed something). They're not saying that only autistic people like anime. They're saying that anime can be very outright in emotions, which can be easier and safer for people with autism. I can see it's appeal too, even though I think autistic people will probably mostly be interested in a certain subject and are prone to obsessing about that subject, which is unlikely to be anime, because it's just one subject from the thousands to choose from. Still, if I missed something I'll be happy to listen to why you think this is offensive

The title and description seem to be or at least sound like they mean offense :P

As an autistic person, I don't really see anything really majorly offencive. Do you find it offencive against autistic people or against the anime community? What they're saying lacks nuance, granted, but I think there could be some logic to it, especially when you listen to how they explain it in the video
raynor
A lot of people feel that the people who like anime are strange. On the internet people like throwing the word autistic around as an insult to say you're dumb and a social reject.
sanfi
@Ray I get that, but I think they might actually be talking about autistic people in this video. The guy in the video that explains it actually is autistic, but still I get that this is a sore issue and that it might have been handled I little bit more carefully
raynor
I think in a certain mindset its just more funny than anything. :)
