So it's been awhile since I sat down and got into a new anime series :X Should probably think about investing in a crunchyroll account sometime soon, but does any one have a decent series or know of hidden gem animes to recommend? Some of the things I like are Fantasy/Magical, Dementia, Comedy, Josei, Psychological, Mystery, Romance/Shoujo, Shonen, Supernatural, and Parodies are the genres that personally appeal to me and I seem to enjoy the most. I also like really bright and colorful art styles, but I enjoy the simple classic old style too(90's anime) I like to keep an open mind and as long as an anime can execute a theme without too many tropes and being too fan servicey. I also like really good complex story line with unpredictable plot twists. I'll watch subbed and dubbed so it can have one or the other or both. I like options. I try to stay away from too much ecchi and harem although I don't mind a bit which means stuff like Eiken is a no go. Hope this is enough info for you guys to kind of give you an idea of what anime interests me.

Monster is a great anime with a bit of the classic artwork, I think? And it combines half of the genres/elements that you mentioned you like, so give it a try! :D

Squid Girl, Polar Bear Cafe and Gugure Kokkuri-san, are all great comedies available on Crunchyroll. Those shows are slice of life genre as well and don't have complex plots, but they're really entertaining! Erased is also a brilliant anime. It's mystery genre with a bit of supernatural thrown in. This one is often considered one of the best anime of 2016. Gintama's hilarious too. Shounen (I think?) comedy with a lot of parodies going on. A lot of people say it really steps up at around 20-30 episodes, which I kinda agree. Those first episodes are really entertaining though. Might be worth mentioning that this anime is over 320 episodes long right now, which shouldn't be a problem technically.

Thanks Ringo and Biscuit, I did see all Squid Girl and love it. I am a very big fan of Christine Cabanos english voice overs.
