Senior Capstone Research Shoujo manga

Hello all, I am currently in my capstone for Asian Studies, and I was wondering if I could ask the internet and see what other people have seen or know about. My central idea is this: Shoujo manga and how it slowly advances traditional female gender roles. I have a few manga that I will be looking at for this project. I have Princess Knight for the 60s. I have the Rose of Versaille for the 70s. I don't have anything for the 80s. I would love suggestions. I have Sailor Moon for the 90s. All help is welcome and appreciated.
