Do you watch... (Anime Topic)

Do you prefer Dub or Sub anime? Or like me both. Sometime Sub where enjoy the anime more. Dub where you can relax and understand the anime better and cruise through the anime faster.

I prefer the original Japanese versions (subs). Usually those ones have better voices and acting. Well in my opinion and compared to the dubs I have seen over time. Now if say Toonami is on, I'm not going to pass up on watching anime on national t.v. . Some people may say oh, I don't feel like reading and trying to figure out what's going on at the same time. I think it's worth it. I'm very use to it anyways.

Mostly Subs because on a general basis they are better quality and are farther down the line if it's a long running one, But I usually try out the dubs at least once, If they're good I'll make the switch.

Subs Rather know what they really talk like from the. Country it was created, its like watching old g.I.joe's cartoons in japanese o.o it would not compute.

I usually watch anime without subs or dubs. I think I've only seen one episode of a dubbed anime before though, being completely honest. I can't say which I'd prefer more though. @.@

subs without question. Dubs are garbage always done by people who can't voice act worth a damn.

It always depends... I mean, subs are always good for me since it's the original voices that were intended for it, and usually the mangaka had the say in who to hire for each voice, or what "feeling" each character's voice should have. With dubs, it depends though. Some dubs I find to be atrocious, and some I find to be okay, and some I find even better. Gravitation is an example of a very poorly done dub. In general, I actually prefer dubs for female voices, and Japanese for male voices. The reason for this, is because I find Japanese voices for girls tend to be too high pitched/falsetto and annoying for me. I would rather the girl characters sound like a real girl her age, or a few years older, than like a 5-year old loli on helium. Even real childrens' voices are not that high pitched. Children have softer voices, but not squeaky Mickey/Minnie Mouse voices. Hana Kanazawa is an example of an adult voice actress that I think CAN do young girls' voices that aren't annoying and have that soft sweet sound like real young people do. Then with the guys, I find their English dub voice tends to sound... old? Like teenage/young adult guys who sound 40... It just isn't sexy for a character who is supposed to be sexy or effeminate. Japanese male voice actors have a more youthful sound to their voice, and it just sounds more, "right" for the teenage/young adult male characters. And then, there is a strange case, Hetalia. Hetalia is weird because, I like the Japanese voices better, and feel the English voices are too different... BUT, the script changes were made so much funnier and entertaining, that it made the dub totally worth watching, and it made it a thousand times funnier to watch. However, some people can be easily offended, so it might be bad for the easily-offended.
