Anime of the 90's vs 2000's/ 2010's

A lot of the nostalgic anime viewers will say the 90's anime is the best and anime has just gone downhill. On the other side of the spectrum, there are the ones who will only watch the newer anime and not give the older ones a chance because of the lower quality animation. What do you all think?

I have no real preference, I don't take much account of the year an anime was made rather, I look at the anime as a whole. For example, crayon shinchan and doraemon are nothing to look at in terms of animation, but are fun as hell to watch. On the flipside, Tsubasa, an anime from the early 2000's, looks great, but DAMN IT IS BORING, yet it's supposed to be a shounen anime. xxxholic, it's flipside, while not being action, and not as polished, is more fluid and fun. However, I think one anime that could unite both old otaku and new alike has to be Space Dandy. It feels timeless.

I agree, anime with dull animation can have an amazing plot and characters. A lot of harem anime have vivid colors and high quality animation, but are mostly cliche and boring except for some of the comedy scenes. I have never really given Space Dandy a chance, so I don't know.

One of the funny progressions that I remember someone mentioning is that anime started out making shows that appealed to those type of fans. Then they started making shows about those kinds of fans. Then they went on to make shows about those fans watching shows about them being those kinds of fans. One thing I do miss from older anime are the opening and ending songs. More recent ones sure are catchy but they also feel like they get old real quick.

They really are making many parody anime nowadays. There are some good opening and songs from the newer anime, but I have to agree that the older ones have something special.

Most anime are the same as every year. It's just what clicks to your mind of preference. Some will suck, yet some will be great. Yet, I can't believe they made anime sport with crappy art. That was the worse ever. That what made me upset.

I like the 90s to 2000s era mostly because anime like rurouni kenshin, big o, ect. Had really nice art and music that was fully orchestrated to go with it. Everything was perfect in my opinion.

anime of the 90s was a bit more livid than the 2000s. Mainly cause sex didn't sell as much back then it was about action and true romance. Now it about harem, huge tit teenagers and lots of risky scenes. that being said love all anime past and present and I recommend getting to know anime history. I do miss the old days though cause I could use an epic fundamentals series or sounds right about now.
