Bakemonogatari etc.

It's like this series is on a different mental wavelength than the rest of reality (or anime). I feel like I should be on drugs to understand it completely, like speed of some sort or on acid.

Never watched the series but that scene is indeed infamous. If you understand it and you think its good enough to recommend me I might watch but otherwise I cant do it

Bakemonogatari is pretty good, just very surreal in parts. Very little in fan service, decent story. I've heard Nisemonogatari is not as good in story and very high in fan service with lolicon/siscon stuff. I've seen about everything you can see on the internet so I'm too jaded to be shocked or disturbed. But some things I just don't enjoy if there is an excessive amount, like rape and such. Like Immoral Sisters for example but even that is pretty tame compared to some stuff.

I might watch it for a few episodes, The same thing over and over (yes, even loli rape) isnt very watchable to me. Lets pray to Cathulu that its story is outstanding that is deserving of its popularity

I love Bakemonogatari's art direction, but I couldn't understand anything that was going on. Apparently I need to watch the other -gataris first.

On episode 3 of Bakemongatari. The weightless girl is worth watching, but the main male character is kinda plain except having the power of regeneration, which I love. the art is either good or too realistic and not aesthetically pleasing. I SHALL KEEP WATCHING

I've every single one of the series. It was by far the best anime I've seen in a while. I had to be a little tipsy to keep up. I would gladly watch it over and over again.

I watched Bakemonogatari and Nisemonogatari last night. I liked them both. Sure the second one fell more into the echi harem formula but I wouldn't say there was an excessive amount of fan service but they did feel the need to throw in some inventively unrealistic siscon action. Which brings us to the toothbrush episode which I was expecting something brutal and rape from what I've heard and it was neither. It was odd and funny in the outrageousness of it but only shocking if you are really sheltered. Really? That was what everyone was freaking about? My prescription is to watch KissXSis OVA and call me in the morning.
