Okay I know for sure somebody already posted a video about this but for debating sake I would like to know others thoughts. Do you think titans are evil?

Spoiler alert: Titans are humans, and humans are evil, therefore titans are evil. Or wait...if they kill humans, then doesn't that make them good?

Well besides that kind of already knew that so no worries even though its still somewhat a theory about the spoiler I just wanted to know if we can really define their actions regardless if they are human as evil. Moreover the titans who cannot transform back between each one with will. If we consider humans evil then in a black and white spectrum that I have set up killing humans would be good but then you have to question if killing something even if it is evil is really good.

I watched the whole series not long ago but forget the ending. Anyway, most of the Titans seem to be driven by instinct and not premeditated thought. So by that line of thought, they are not actually evil. Except for the humans that can transform when they want have the ability to overide their instinct with willpower. You can also think of it this way: The regular Titans are like zombies and the humans that can transform are kind of like warewolves.

I would say they're not evil, dangerous, but not evil. Some of the titans have shown the capability to talk and even have remorse over someone they ate. Spoiler Alert: There's also a large hairy titan that looks like bigfoot that can talk and shows a high amount of intelligence, but doesn't really come across as 'evil'. Now, let's say that those with higher cognitive functions among the titans went out of their way to go and kill/eat humans then I would say they are evil. But for the most part it's those without the higher functions that go around killing humans. They're like rabid dogs, not really evil, but definitely life threatening.

I would agree with you its called the beast titan. That is true as well from what we know so far their actions are rather not intentionally meant as wanting to kill and destroy them specifically for that reason. I would say have to agree with you on the rabid dog view because unless they have the intelligence to make the view that they want to simply kill humans then they cant really be classified as directly trying to be evil.

/SPOILERS I'm not sure if the anime covered it but the walls literally have colossal titans in them. Eren supposedly has the power to control normal titans (theorized that all titan shifters do) which is why the government sought after him so thoroughly. My crazy fan theory is that there are titan shifters in high ranking military/government positions that are controlling the titans in the walls so that they remain stationary as a defense mechanism. Which raises the further question of why the walls were needed in the first place... I'm thinking that the government had a hand in creating titans, possibly for battle purposes long ago. This would explain why there are mentions of other "walled civilizations" like the one Mikasa's mother came from (Asia). The titans would be born from experiments to turn humans into monsters for war, it got out of control and humanity basically screwed itself over. /end crazy fan theory

Hmm a pretty interesting theory actually the wall titans were interesting at the end of the anime season. I mean so far we know that the government is pretty corrupt and only cares about protecting the inner walls in the end. To be honest we know that the walls go into the ground as well some people are thinking that the walls are there not to protect them from titans but from something else and that the titans are merely helping with that. Either way we have a long way to go since the chapters are updated once every month.
