So what makes you love anime so much?

shadly75
The thing I love the most about Anime for the most part, is aside from the nudity or how they show girls in skimpy outfits in some like Strike Witches or Yamada's First Time. They truly show how friendship and comradery are so strong and how any of them are willing to put every bit of their well being on the line to protect each other. Not only out of friendship, but out of love. Like in Madoka Magica and Fairy Tail and even in strike witches. If they could get past the naughty stuff when making these, I really thing the younger generation could learn Diversity and Friendship and Love. That is my thought, What is yours?

I've learned a lot of "life lessons" from anime, granted I'm still the quiet guy I've always been, it's made me think and see things a bit differently. I also like anime because it's just entertaining to watch, see things that cannot be currently done in our time and world, imagining yourself in those kind of worlds and/or settings. Stuff like that Sure the hentai or even ecchi stuff is good for a quickie, but I prefer a good story over fanservice. I've dropped a lot of anime because I'm tired of seeing the same tits and ass all the time, like honestly, I'd rather just watch Hentai for the story (which there are some nice ones) Anyways, I like anime with a story, message, and something you can take out of it for the real world.

What makes me love anime so much is the sheer variety and depth of most of the stories. It will take you to far off worlds and still give you something to connect to, or take you close to home and give you things to think about. A lot of the time they're just enjoyable to watch and not full of drama like most television shows are now-a-days. I'll admit I'm tired of the fan service trends going on right now and wish they'd get back to the original roots of anime, but I still love it all. There are so many great worlds and stories in the anime industry already and the fact that they keep coming out with new things keeps me coming back for more.

It is what brings my international friends closer to me, especially Japanese. It's a fun way to keep reading and listening to Japanese language.

Also, the most important reason for me (dunno why I forgot this) Anime is what brought my best friend and I together, he lives in Utah while I live in California We met on an online game and were talking a bit, and one day we decided to watch anime together, and our first anime together was Elfen Lied, and since then, him and I have been talking every day for the past like 8 years

I love anime because I learn a lot from it and it helps me to get myself up through depression and stress.

Mhm, I agree with Moku. During the end of the downfall of my last relationship, I watched anime to cheer me up, I was watching Daily Lives of Highschool Boys at the time and it always cracked me up.

It is great learning all the different sides of why you love anime. And I relate to a lot of what you all have pointed out. I know the more I watch them the more I think about life. And I agree Karasu, I find myself spacing out on what it would be like if this would happen or if this was real. As for friends,That is awesome Buji that you met such a great friend. And also you missallyesterday, This is a great way to meet them. I myself have yet to build a friend ship or even a relationship I hope for. This is my first year that I have been able to really let my Otaku side out like this. I just wish I could have brought this side of me out when I was in my twenties. LoL.

I used to love anime because it gave me an outlet, a way to self insert and it gave me a fantasy I always wanted. My reason has since changed and I vehemently hate the abuse of the prior reason because it breeds unrealistic expectations. My current reason is anime became an interesting medium to explore ideas that you normally can't.
