Turn-Ons and Turn-Offs?

chicgeek23
This is mostly a question for all the female gender members on this site, but feel free to add your input fellas. Girls, what are somethings about the opposite or same sex you find very appealing? And what are traits in a guy/girl you just absolutely wouldn't be attracted to? A.K.A Something that would make a person undateable. No one has to do this, but I'm listing my top 5 for each. Feel free to put less or more depending on your own preferences. TURN ONS 1. Taking the initiative. I can't tell you how awesome I think it is when a guy messages or starts up a conversation first. I personally don't like having to be the first to say something to someone. 2. Humor. I like a guy that can make me laugh about several topics, whether it be random, sarcastic, or a completely far fetched scenario. 3. Creativity. I find originality and quirks fascinating and interesting. I'd rather meet someone who can grab my attention and doesn't use cliche ways to try to talk me. Such as Hey or Hi. BOOOOOORRRRIIIINNNGGG. 4. Intelligence. I love when I can have nice conversations about philosophy, politics, anime, religion, humanity, and all kinds of topics. 5. Doesn't have a one track mind. Which means, isn't worried about trying to get into my pants. I want to connect to someone emotionally. If the chemistry is there, then the physical part will come later. I don't want to be with someone who only cares about getting sex. Lust isn't exactly a glue to hold together a relationship. TURN OFFS 1. Unnecessary Flattery or Compliments. To me, when I get told I'm beautiful, or pretty, it's nice and all, but at the same time, a guy or girl who does this constantly makes me feel as if they just will toss those words around and it loses it's significance. Not to mention it feels as it isn't meant genuinely and insincere. I'd rather poke fun and tease each other with slightly crude humor all in a joking manner of course. I actually think it's funny. 2. Whining. I can't tell you how awful I think it when a someone complains about everything. It drives me insane. Not to mention, people who are whiny tend to be over sensitive and gets their feelings hurt too much. 2. Misuse of proper grammar. Is it really that hard to add a couple of constants or vowels to a word? Or to add a . or ? to a sentence. I understand if you are in a hurry, but more or less talking to to someone that says something like "i tink that ur awesum" wouldn't be someone I'd like to carry on talking with. 4. Clingy. I'm all about personal space. I have my super affectionate moments. But I don't feel as if I should always have to be touching someone I'm with or wants to know what I'm doing all the time. I like to read or go play games, but usually I leave the snuggles for movie night. I also mean clingy in the sense of someone who instantly crushes on me by having only chatted with me for a bit. It kind of actually makes me uncomfortable. I like taking my time getting to know a person and establish a friend connection and developing my feelings rather than just thinking I like someone and dive into a relationship that might end up being short termed. 5. Flirtatious. I understand that people will always be attracted to more than one person their whole life. I myself have many celebrity crushes, but I never would flirt or act interested in another person if I'm seriously talking or with someone else and I in turn expect the same respect. I wouldn't like if some person who I was with was getting flirted with by a person who likes them and does it back.

I definitely agree with a lot of yours and this is perfectly fitting for this site lol I'll make mine a little shorter because I'm actually having some trouble coming up with stuff XD. Turn Ons: 1. Intelligence: Definitely a big priority. It's okay to talk about junk, but I think occasional intelligent conversations are important. 2. Make me blush: I'm a sucker for cheesiness. Find a cute nickname for me. Speak to me in French. Makes me melt :3 3. You're willing to chase me: I'm somewhat outgoing so I don't mind starting the conversation, but I'm a little shy when it comes to intimacy, so someone who's on the dominant side sexually is a huge plus. I'll pursue you too; you're not going to be left doing all the legwork, but do take some initiative ;) Turn Offs: 1. Generally being unlikable: Constantly antagonistic or insulting, controlling, abusive, degrading me/putting me down a lot, etc. 2. Bad grammar/spelling: I do spend a fair amount of time online, so we're probably going to be chatting, texting and whatever, and it makes it rly makes u hard 2 taek srsly if u talk liek dis. 3. Bland tastes: No sense of aesthetics, watching/listening to the same things instead of branching out and discovering new things, dismissing things that may be more "artsy" as weird, lazy mainstream tastes in music, movies, etc. I know it's pretentious of me, but I like art that challenges, not recycled, pandering, generic junk. I guess I took "turn ons" more literally XD.

I would list mine. .. again, But it's on my profile :p Besides. I have long hair, that's the important thing. Its a true story.

Turn ons: Able to hold a conversation, able to hold a job, likes to explore and travel, willing to try new things, a talent in something creative OR handy, and a thirst for knowledge. So designing cosplays/clothes, fixin' cars, upgrading computers, painting, drawing, cooking, playing a fricken instrument of almost any kind! OMG that gets me hot... you don't even know. Bonus if you have a car. If you like my favorite bands and like One Piece that means you can stand being in my car with the Ed Hardy and One Piece decor and my Dir en grey blaring. But, I don't require these things lol. TURN OFFS: Close-minded people, people that feel entitled to stuff/ people that don't work for things, people that are selfish either emotionally, physically, or materialistically. People that have no motivation to learn/try/see new things. People that have no goals for the future. When people constantly criticize people and things. (It's like, we get it already, stop obsessing on others and try to make your own life better!)Inconsiderate people.. (Kind of in the selfish category. Don't really consider the consequences of their actions, just doing whatever they want.)

I completely agree about criticizing people. -nods-

I'm a simple creature, if you're into anime and/or gaming and like to cuddle, you get an A+ in my book. Biggest turn offs would have to be smoking, and rude people.
