I'm native to the country of Canada. I had to be forced and assimilated to speak English and accept Caucasians as almighty leaders. I don't hold anything against them just the racist pricks who mutter under their breath as I pass by. I'm just as normal as they are. I live in a house with electricity like they do. I take bath and use shampoo like they do. and why is it that foreigners judge me, in my own homeland, when I accept and never judge them because where they're from its probably pretty bad. No offense. Its like everyone has a grudge against native american/canadian. Were those of you living in the states aware that there is no law to protect native women from getting raped or killed? everyone talks about Canada like its the almighty land of the free. Well what about us? My grandfather was taken from his home as a baby and forced to live in a boarding school were he could absolutely not speak Cree, our native tounge. there were those who were molested, raped, killed and abused by priests and nuns. Some children even killed themselves and some died trying to escape. Those that survived became drug addicts and alcoholics. Unable to heal from the years of pain and assimilation. We call these boarding schools or residential schools the Indian halocaust. I don't know why were called Indians since Indians are from India. I find that term racist and prefer indigenous peoples or native. I think I, who came from a clean bloodline of 100% native, and also being part of an extinct species (that's right were going extinct) should have as much respect as I give all these immigrants who overstayed their welcome . Sorry for the rant

I take no offense. and no I don't hold grudges against Caucasian or any other race for that matter. my point was that not a lot of Canadians are well informed of the land they live on. I don't mean to be all like "this is OUR land so go back to yours" because I believe that land cannot be owned and the government surprises me endlessly how determined they are to prove that fact wrong. they've killed my culture and took away any chance I had of getting it back. I've been successfully assimilated into this horrible country. now I have respect for everyone but I just cant stand it when I get stared at with judging eyes. you have no idea how many times I've spoken up to strangers on the bus, at the grocery store and on the internet. its so low brow of anyone to hit me where my culture is especially when I have none at all. but at the very least I can remember my true cree name. and that will surely be the survival of me, the true me.

its perfectly understandable. I'm the last of my bloodline so its up to me to rebirth my traditions and cultures but there is no possible way I can

On a serious note. Racism sucks, and I'm sorry you feel that way. I cannot imagine what you are feeling, therefore I cannot sympathize, But I do feel bad you are going through it. I am white, with some native American blood in me, But not really enough to be considered such. I do hope things get better for you. We're all here for you. No racism allowed in these parts. ... except die blue Dragon... we don't like blue dragons in these neck of the woods. ;)
