Animes that should air longer than 26 episodes.

chicgeek23
If you are like me, then you know nothing is more aggravating than getting into a show and then finding out that it only is 26 episodes long. It's like finding out there isn't milk left to eat with your oreos. >( What anime do you feel like should have more episodes made? I say Vandread!

Now this may get a little backlash by some. But I say Sword Art Online should have been much longer. Let's say, oh, 60 to 80 episodes? (at least 40) Anyone who's watched it would agree that it was insanely rushed. Now I personally I loved it. Amazing animation quality. Beautiful and epic soundtrack. The voice actors and actresses I think they did a great job. Characters were enjoyable (But generic) Plot was pretty unoriginal in a lot of ways (doesn't take away from enjoyment though) But the series needed more character backstory and development. Both arcs should have been longer, anyone who liked the series i'm sure would have liked to see more of the two worlds, etc. And longer battles would have been nice as well. Plus you know, every episode took place 3 to 7 months apart from one another sometimes, time skip after time skip with no hint of what happened between that time period. I loved it, sure, a lot of people fanboyed and fangirled over it and it can be considered "overrated" sure. But 20 something episodes didn't do it justice, at all, it could have been much better in my opinion if it were longer.

This is so much yes for Dangan Ronpa stuffing over 35 hours of gameplay with Free time events and other events just doesn't work for 13 episodes. If SDR2 gets a anime it better get 26 or more I can't stand condensed rush jobs.

I agree. Sword Art should have been longer and with the general concept, they could have done so much more with it. I think they really just focused on the romance aspect which to me was alright, but overall, if they had done some episodes with side quests, finding of unique skills, rare items, and such, it could have been more amazing than it was. I also didn't like for the first 18 episodes they showed nothing that was going on in the real world until after he freed the players from the game. Not to mention some of the characters they showed only for one or a couple of episodes such as Klein and Lizbeth never showed what happened after SAO, sure they made a appearance on ALO, but they didn't go into anything about them in the real world. -sigh- So much wasted potential.

And I agree entirely with everything you just stated above. Side quests, showing the real world, etc, all of it. The wasted potential seems almost endless sadly. But I still love it and it and it has a lot of rewatch value.

Well Sao is a light novel and there making season 2 though the light novel was more enjoyable cause it went more in depth and I agree about vandread I was about to cry when I found out how short it was though there is a light novel for after the anime spice and wolf is a very short anime series 2 seasons going at 26 ep each and the ending could have been much better wish it was dragged out longer

I'm surprised at how many people here have also seen/ enjoyed vandread >.>, though I think it's not really on my list for an anime that needed more episodes. And spice and wolf didn't technically end at season 2, I think they need to make a season 3 and conclude the series when they reach Horo's hometown. Anyways a series for me that I wish had more episodes would be Outlaw Star, they had so much room to do extra episodes inbetween the start and end of that series but they didn't do it :l, still it's one of my favorite anime of all time >.>. Uh, it's not the greatest and it's only a 12 episode series but I think Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou could have used more episodes, and Maoyuu Maou Yuusha definitely needed more episodes, was a great anime but needed more backstory to it. Same with Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai though I think they're planning on making a second season... Speaking of second seasons, SAO's season 2 will hopefully be at least 24 episodes long and only cover the gun gale online arc instead of splitting it into gun gale online/ mothers rosario >.> that would annoy the living hell out of me...considering the gun gale online arc is supposed to bring up past elements from their time spent in aincard.

So SAO had a fantastic pace and they kept introducing very likable characters such as the dragon girl or the swordsmith but unfortunately they dispeared as fast as they arrived. Then all of a sudden Kiritio faces off against the creator and BAM, SAO is shutdown. What happened to the greuling challenge of reaching floor 100? P.S. Oh I miss Vandread, trying to convince friends to watch it on our anime viewing night but they are hesitant :(

Ugh Princess Jellyfish! It's only 11 eps and doesn't even get to main point of the story! D:

11 eps eh? Ugh, that reminds me of Angels Beats. Which was 12 or 14 episodes... -__- I loved it SO much and it's one of all time avorites for sure. But rushed and short beyond belief... A lot of characters were just completely forgotten about. X_X It should have been a 22 to 24 episode thing. Didn't need to be longer than that though.
